Friends !, we all think we have them, but what defines a "friend" ?
The Dictionary will tell you -
noun "any person whom one knows and likes well".
Very well, but what about those people who you consider to be friends but actually do not reciprocate the sentiment !
In my experience this appears to be a common phenomenon and covers all manor of friendship.
Off course there are friends from many different aspects of our lives, from childhood to old age. We start with school friends, who may remain friends for many years after school days are a distant past memory.
Then there are friends from college, work, siblings, the Pub,sports activities, holidays, football, family and friends of friends.
However the very nature of these friendships is often false from the start, with the apparent friendship thrust upon individuals or indeed groups of people due to gatherings at work, the pub or other similar places or situations.
Off course we all wish to have as many friends as possible and hope that we are popular people. However,to be truth full we are probably all guilty of proffering a friendship to an individual or group, just to fit in to the current situation that befalls you. This may be when visiting the local Pub, socialising at work of family gatherings.
Initially all will be well as these new "Friends" are currently unaware of your personal traits and idiosyncrasies. And of course you will be unaware of there own behaviors.
Unfortunately, after a while you may notice that certain individuals or groups of people are not the people you thought them to be, and you will start to notice that they are grinding your nerves and that you would probably be better of without there friendship.
So be careful out there next time you are approached by a new friend or friends, and think first before you commit your self to a friendship or friendships that should be no more than a casual acquaintance
Adios Friends !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
